Filminute 2009
FILMINUTE is the international one-minute film festival that challenges filmmakers, writers, animators, artists, designers, and creative producers to develop and submit the world’s best one-minute films.
We got this from them today: “We’re familiar with Moviestorm. We need to see some high calibre submissions from your community and get you on that shortlist!”
So, who’s up for it? The entry deadline is August 20th.
Cmmmmonnnnnnn machinima community!
Filminute is one of the few arenas we are aware of where all genres of film compete against each other head-on. The Academy Awards is only now just struggling with this notion (eg. can an animated film win “Best Picture”, see the recent fuss around Wall-E).
We believe Filminute hints at a future when all great content will be evaluated on its own merits, cross-platform, w/o any pretense around what is “high culture” or “low”. A great film is a great film. Period.
Last year’s festival saw over 3 million minutes of screenings of our films from the shortlisted collection of 25. That’s a LOT of screen time.
Like the original posting says, “Who’s up for it?” Filminute welcomes your submissions w/ great enthusiasm.
Moviestorm, thanks once again for connecting with Filminute on Twitter and putting the call out to your creative communities.
