30 Day Free Trial

By the end of today (31st March 2010), all new downloads of Moviestorm will require users to sign-up to a 30-Day Free Trial Membership. This will allow us to better serve our paying users, whilst giving all our new users the opportunity to trial a more extensive Moviestorm experience as a subscriber for 30 days.

All current users of free Moviestorm (1.2) will be unaffected by this change.

The new 30-Day Free Trial Membership offer is valid for users registering for credit or debit card purchases only. Credit or debit cards are not charged until after the free trial period expires.

A Moviestorm subscription will cost US$7.99/GB£4.99/€6.49 per month after the Free Trial ends. Credit or debit card purchases for the subscription plan chosen will auto-renew unless canceled. You may cancel at any time.

This offer is void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law.

Stars & Storm competition

Although most of our users are English-speaking, Moviestorm is picking up in many other parts of the world. We’re really pleased that the French-speaking community has launched this fabulous competition.  It’s open to anyone, not just French speakers, as long as any dialogue is in French or subtitled in French.  (More details in English below.)

You have until August 31 to submit your film. The rules and scoring system are quite sophisticated: you get bonus scores for including certain props and words. What’s more, when you sign up to the competition, they’ll either give you 500 Moviestorm points to spend on content packs or you can get an additional bonus. Check the forum for full contest rules.

We’ve donated them a load of points as prizes:

Winner : 10,000 MS points
2nd place : 6,000 MS points
3rd, 4th & 5th place : 2,500 MS points each
6th, 7th & 8th place : 1.500 MS points each

Best of luck, everyone!

Moviestorm Live - instant free video greetings

Moviestorm Live is the perfect way to make your very first movie. There’s nothing at all to download, it only takes a few minutes, and it’s absolutely free.

In 2009, we gave you two styles of instant movie: Photostorm Live builds your Facebook photos into a customisable movie, and Greetingstorm Live puts your face (or a friend’s face) onto a character’s head in a movie.  We’ve now combined the two into a single easy-to-use Facebook app, and added in many more new instant videos, covering birthdays, engagements, and weddings. It’s a great and unique way to preserve those memories and share them with your friends, or to send a fun birthday greeting to a youngster anywhere in the world.  It’s so easy, even your mum can do it!

Will you?

And with this ring…

Happy birthday!

Once you’ve seen for yourself just how easy it can be to make a movie, you can take it to the next level with the full versions of Photostorm and Greetingstorm. They’re free too. Just download Moviestorm (yes, that’s free too!), hit Get More Content when it starts up, and grab the free expansion packs.
